“It is a relief you recognize my voice, I thought I will have to go through the trouble of introducing myself,” Neil uttered with a smirk.
“Why are you with my mother? Why do you have her phone?!” Romina questioned loudly as she held the phone tighter.
Her hand was shaking, she was scared it was going to drop and the call will be disconnected. As much as she hates Neil and his voice is the last thing she wants to hear, her mother’s life depends on this.
“You ask too many questions, shouldn’t you be worried about her? The first question should have been, is she hurt? It sounds like you care about me more than your mom. Should my heart race?” He asked mockingly.
“You animal! I am going to kll you if you touch a strand of her hair!” She growled.
“I would mind what I say if I were you, I have your precious mother, remember? And I can do to her the exact thing I did to your pathetic father,” he reminded her as he walked around in circles.
“What do you want?! Why won’t you let my family be? We have done nothing to hurt you, why do you keep hurting us?!” She cried.
“Did nothing wrong? You thought your family is innocent? Are you joking, Romina? Your family made me an orphan, your pathetic father was nothing but a selfish j.erk. His selfishness and greed caused others’ life, if only he was content with what he has your life won’t be a living h’ll,” he shook his head as he fought back the tears threatening to fall. “But, no he was a selfish j.erk!” He thundered and Mrs. Zaragoza j.erked in fear.
“That same man you call a selfish jerk treated you like a son despite knowing the truth,” Romina blurted.
“What?” Neil inquired as he didn’t quite understand what she meant.
“Dad knew you were not his son, he knew you were going to kill him. But he kept everything to himself and endangered his wife’s life for you, my dad is not responsible for your parent’s death yet he took responsibility, tell me, Neil, what nerve do you have to name him a selfish je.rk?” She threw an unexpected question at him.
He was dumbfounded, he doesn’t want to believe anything Romina said but his heart recognized it as the truth.
“Could it be the truth?” He asks himself. “Neil,” Iris called as his silence was scaring her.
They were in the Zaragoza’s mansion, Nanny Gloria was asleep. Her head was red and swollen which means she was hit with something, and that made her pass out.
Mrs. Zaragoza was sitting on an armchair with Neil standing beside her and Iris watching Nanny Gloria.
“You are lying,” Neil stated, he was not going to let Romina fool him.
“I have proof,” she blurted and he was quiet again.
He shook his head sideways, he has done too much to give up. He won’t let Romina have the upper hand, her father might not be responsible but it was his company that was built on an active Volcano
“I don’t wanna see or hear histories,” that was his reply.
Romina gasped and held her stomach as she felt a sharp pain, how could Neil be heartless?
She just told him the truth but he was not ready to accept it, instead, he wants to hurt the innocent.
Is he even human? A human should not be that ¢ruel.
“What do you want?” Romina asked with a confident expression, she won’t let Neil hurt her
She is ready to play and win this little game of his, he is going to regret it because it will be too late when he realized she changed the rules.
“Good question, I thought you would never ask,” he laughed d’vilishly.
“I want you to change the contents of the will,” he stated and she gasped silently but he heard her.
“I haven’t found the will,” she replied. “I am not a f®ol, I know you found it since your pathetic mother here has her memories. She must have told you,” he said.
He moved closer to Mrs. Zaragoza and trailer his hand in her hair. “Give everything to me and bring it to the mansion in the next one hour, if..,” he paused and raised Mrs. Zaragoza’s chin.
“You don’t want to bury your mother next to your father, don’t be a minute late,” he hanged up as soon as that was said.
“Do you think she will obey?” Iris asked as Neil tossed the phone into his pocket.
“This old hag here is too precious to her,” he replied. “Your daughter will decide your fate,” he said to Mrs. Zaragoza who looked terrified.
“Please….” She pleaded, it is not like she can fight against him or something all she can do is play an obedient student.
“What did you say?” Neil asked turning his left ear in her direction. “Please, let me go,” Mrs. Zaragoza pleaded again.
“Let you go?” He asked as if he didn’t hear her the first time, the poor old woman nodded slowly
“My parents were innocent too you know, but no one showed mercy,” he replied.
“Your daughter is a bch too and she deserves to suffer,” Iris chirped in. “What has my poor girl done to you?” Mrs. Zaragoza managed to ask.
“She stole from me,” Iris replied moving closer. “She stole my life and I am going to steal hers,” she uttered coldly.
“Are you saying we should kll her?” Neil asked with an excited grin. “Yeah, we should let her witness her mother’s pain first. That should t®rture her, and she will plead for de.ath,” Iris smirked.
“I like that idea, plead for de.ath,” Neil smirked and Iris laughed eviIIy.
Mrs. Zaragoza bowed her head as tears streamed down her cheek, she prayed Romina will be protected.
The door was pushed with great force since it was locked, it flung open and Nicole walked in.
The police informed her of Neil’s escape, she knew Iris was going to do something since she turned her down.
She paid a policeman to give her information, and after being informed she tracked Iris’s car with the help of Steve which she sent to Elias’s house to keep Romina safe.
“Look who we have here,” he widened his arm. “Meet my baby sis, Nicole the girl who refused to help her brother,” he muttered sarcastically.
“And my brother helped himself,” Nicole faked a smile as she walked closer.
“How did you know I was going to be here?” Niel asked. “I read you like an open book big brother,” she replied.
“Stop!” Iris ordered and she rolled her eyes. “Are you with the police?” She asked.
“I don’t work with morons, if they couldn’t keep an eye on you the first time they won’t be able to the second time,” she replied walking closer.
“You are not going to turn me in nor are you going to help me, why are you here then?” Niel asked.
“I am here to stop you, let the woman go. You know she is innocent,” Nicole stated.
Neil stared at her for a while before laughing out loud, Iris soon joined and Nicole being the ¢razy type joined too.
“What’s funny?” Nicole asked after the laughter died down. “You, dear sister,” Neil replied.
“You don’t walk in here like a strayed dog and give orders,” Iris muttered with her arms folded
“At least I know what I want, unlike you who claim to hate him for leaving you yet you are working with him and you even let him fk you,” Nicole blurted and Iris felt like $trangling her.
“You don’t speak to my girlfriend in that manner,” Neil scolded.
“Girlfriend my foot, she is using you,” Nicole blurted. “I don’t understand why you fail to see that,” she shook her head sideways in pity.
“You are a big id!ot,” Nicole blurted and they heard running footsteps.
“Mom!” Romina yell as she ran inside with Zoey behind her, Neil checked his wristwatch and glared at her.
“What?” Romina questioned his glare. “I am not late,” she added.
“Yeah, but you would have been if it was three minutes later,” he replied.
“The document,” he requested and Romina raised the paper in her hand, her gaze fell on Nicole.
“What are you doing here?” She asked. “Ro… I..” She stuttered shortly.
“Oh, meet my sister,” Neil introduced. “You were working for him?!” Romina’s eyes widened.
“How I wish, the documents or your mother,” he threatened with a gvn pointed at Mrs. Zaragoza.
Romina walked closer and gave him the document, he checked it and a smile appeared on his lips after he was done.
“Here you go,” he gestured at her to take Mrs. Zaragoza.
Romina hugged her shortly before walking away from Neil.
“I can’t be too nice,” he muttered and pointed the gvn at them.
