Biography
Ada Ameh is a famous Nollywood actress, comedian, producer, and television personality. She became very popular for her role in the sitcom ‘The Johnsons’ currently showing on Africa Magic. She is a very gifted comedian but also skillful, creative, and talented in interpreting other movie roles aside from comedy.
Although she is a native of Idoma in Benue State, Ada Ameh was born and raised in Lagos State, southwestern part of Nigeria at the Naval Barracks on Malu (Mobil) road in Ajegunle. She completed both her primary and secondary school education in Lagos Stae also.

In 1995, Ada Ameh joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) and rose to fame in 1996 after playing the role of Anita in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Domitila” a movie produced and directed by Zeb Ejiro.
In 2003, she acted in the very popular Nollywood blockbuster comedy movie “Aki na Ukwa” alongside Amaechi Muonagor and the comic duo of Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme where she played the role of Gladys. In 2016, she starred in the popular television series “The Johnson” which is currently running on DSTV.
In her own words, Ada described how Zeb Ejiro discovered her talent. “He met me and we got talking. He saw something that I didn’t see in me. I didn’t know I had such talent. All my life, if you ask me, I would say I was going to be a medical doctor or a singer. So Zeb Ejiro saw something in me and when the movie Domitila was to be shot, he said he had somebody who he wanted to play the role of Anita. They looked for me and they found me. It was not the era of GSM. Anyway, they got me; I was a greenhorn, very green. But people like Pat Okiri and Basorge taught me how to interpret a script. That was how it all started”.
Ada Ameh is multilingual, she speaks Idoma, Ibibio and Yoruba very fluently and also speaks a little of Igbo. She has acted in more than 100 Nollywood movies which include Domitila, Aki na Ukwa, True Love My Foot, Ghana Must Go, Phone Swap, 30 Days in Atlanta, The Johnsons, Blood Money, Atlas, and many more.

Ada Ameh has been nominated for a few awards which include Best Actress in Comedy at the City People Entertainment Awards, Most Promising Actress in Nigeria at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, and Best Comic Act to Watch at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Family
Ada gave birth to a daughter at age 14 while she was in secondary school and she raised her on her own. The name of her daughter is Miss Aladi Godsgift Ameh, whom she lost to the cold hands of death after medical surgery in October of the year 2020. She is still single and hopes to settle down someday with the man of her dreams.

Death
Unfortunately, this popular actress died in the late hours of Sunday 17th of July 2022. Ameh died in Warri, Delta State around 11 pm.
Ameh was said to have been a guest of an oil company toyshop and his family when she suddenly collapsed, all efforts to revive her proved abortive. She reportedly died on the way to the hospital.
Her death is coming nearly two years after she lost her only daughter, Miss Aladi Godsgift Ameh, to the cold hands of death after medical surgery.
Ada Ameh announced the passing of her daughter and only child, Aladi Godsgift in October 2020.
In June 2022, a filmmaker accused the actress of failing to honor a production she was paid to play a role in spite of paying for her flight tickets.
After she was called out, Ada Ameh announced that she could not be at the movie location because she was battling mental health.
